Industrial Designer
Industrial Designer (Mid-weight)
Since launching the world’s first portable wood-pellet pizza oven in 2012, Ooni has grown into an award-winning, multinational company with a product range loved by pizza makers all over the globe. Our mission has always been to design innovative products that spark joy in our customers, and whilst we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far - we’re only just getting started.We’re now entering an exciting new chapter in Ooni’s journey. As part of our growth strategy, we’re strengthening our core technical and creative capabilities within the product team and that's where you come in. We are looking for a talented and passionate Industrial Designer to join our product development team in Broxburn, West Lothian. Ooni is proudly product-led and this role provides an exciting opportunity to join our world class design team and help shape our product future.
The Ooni Design Group has a track record of developing world class experience-led products. We have won multiple Red Dot and iF design awards and have extremely high ambitions for the future. As we expand our product portfolio into new categories, we need a highly creative and motivated Industrial designer to help get us there.
This is an on-site role, working a minimum of 4 days per week from our office in Broxburn, Scotland.What you’ll do

You will help make our exciting product roadmap for 2026 and beyond a reality.

You’ll be instrumental in the product development cycle - you’ll shape the future of our products through deep understanding of our customers, thoughtful user centric insight, research, ideation and visualisation.

You’ll be reporting to our Design Group Lead and work closely with the rest of our Product Development team, your job is to champion the product vision and ensure product experience is at the heart of everything you do! You will be working with our engineers, category managers, manufacturers, senior management team as well as with external partners around the world.

You will work on multiple projects and be involved from end-to-end, initial concept through to manufacture and launch.

You will be an important voice in shaping the product direction and ensuring that our designs and products are in line with our Ooni product strategy.

What you’ll need to succeed
-
Experience in a role as a creative Industrial designer with the ability to manage the design process and inspire the team around you.
-
Proven experience creating consumer products.
-
Relevant industry experience working in-house or within a consultancy environment with a great understanding of product design fundamentals.

Experience taking products from concept to mass manufacture with a broad understanding of common manufacturing processes to inform your design approach.

Excellent verbal and visual presentation skills, including hand and digital sketching.

Creative flair that blends beautiful design with carefully thought out details to delight our customers.

User-centric, experience first focus, always.

Aptitude for creative functional problem-solving with a great eye for product aesthetics.

Ability and drive to get hands on with prototypes and adapt and react to enhance the product experience.

Great communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively with the product and engineering teams and to engage with external suppliers and manufacturers both in the UK and internationally.

Fluency with Solidworks.

Keyshot (or similar) & Adobe creative suite experience.

Experience with physical-digital interface design or UI development.
