Position Summary
We are seeking a highly creative, curious, and passionate Industrial Designer to join our global, multidisciplinary Design organization. In this role, you will contribute to the design of innovative electrical distribution, energy management, and digital products that embody Schneider Electric’s brand values of simplicity, performance, and sustainability. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, user experience, marketing, and manufacturing teams to deliver world-class product experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept Development: Generate innovative product concepts through sketching, digital modeling, rapid prototyping, and design exploration.
- Product Design: Create compelling product forms, CMF strategies, and user interactions aligned with Schneider Electric’s design language and sustainability guidelines.
- 3D Modeling & Visualization: Build high-quality CAD models, renderings, and animations to communicate design intent.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, UX, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical constraints.
- Human-Centered Design: Participate in user research, apply insights to product solutions, and advocate for customer needs across various applications.
- Design for Sustainability: Integrate circular design principles, material reduction, and lifecycle thinking into design proposals.
- Design Documentation: Prepare design specifications, CMF documentation, prototypes, and presentation materials for internal reviews.
- Brand Stewardship: Ensure all designs uphold Schneider Electric’s global design DNA and contribute to a consistent product ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design
- 3+ years of professional experience (or equivalent portfolio) designing physical products.
- Strong proficiency in sketching, rapid visualization, iterative design, and storytelling.
- Expertise in CAD (Rhino3D, or similar), rendering tools (KeyShot, V-Ray), and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated experience working from concept through DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Portfolio showing strong aesthetics, problem-solving, and user-centered design thinking.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing products for electrical, industrial, or IoT categories.
- Knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, elastomers, and large-scale manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards, eco-design strategies, and material life-cycle analysis.
- Experience working within global, cross-cultural design teams.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 68,000 - USD 102,000 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
