Role Description

The Industrial Electric Motor Repairer will perform day-to-day inspection, fault diagnosis, and repair of industrial electric motors and other rotating equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Disassembly and reassembly of motors
  • Testing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults
  • Replacing or repairing components
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards

This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Liverpool Area, working primarily at the Huyton facility with potential visits to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electric motors and rotating equipment; the ability to rewind DC armatures would be a necessity.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety practices, electrical standards, and use of appropriate tools and test equipment.
  • Experience in winding both AC and DC motors in an ISO certified workshop or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Good problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality work under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support 24-hour repair services when required.
  • Vocational training or apprenticeship in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
