Industrial Engineer – New Product Introduction
Location: Hull Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + benefits + career development
Are you an Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for New Product Introduction (NPI)? Do you enjoy bridging the gap between Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring innovative products are built efficiently, safely, and at scale?
About the Role
This Industrial Engineer opportunity is with an established manufacturing business invest in the next generation of products and manufacturing capability. You’ll play a key role at the heart of New Product Introduction (NPI), collaborating with Engineering, R&D, and Operations to ensure seamless transitions from design concepts to full-scale production.
This is not about maintaining existing lines—it’s about shaping the future. You’ll have real influence across Engineering, R&D, and Operations, driving decisions that set new standards in product launch efficiency and manufacturing capability.
Responsibilities
As an Industrial Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading manufacturing engineering input for new product introductions
- Close collaboration with Engineering and R&D to drive Design for Manufacture (DfM)
- Developing manufacturing processes, layouts, and production methods
- Identifying and implementing efficiency, quality, and productivity improvements
- Specifying and supporting investment in new manufacturing equipment
- Applying structured problem-solving techniques to optimise performance
- Collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver successful NPIs

Requirements
To excel in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing/Production Engineering in a complex manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacture (DfM)
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in PFMEA, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving approaches
- Hands-on experience with process development, production improvements, or capital equipment projects
- Excellent communication skills with Engineering, Operations, and Production teams
Bonus qualifications:
- Familiarity with industries such as HVAC, refrigeration, automotive, aerospace, white goods, or FMCG
- Comfort working in advanced manufacturing environments
