Project Execution Manager
Bolton
Location: Bolton, UK Salary: Circa £65,000 (depending on experience) Working Arrangement: Dynamic (hybrid) - 1 day per week on-site Security Requirement: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship
Candidates may need to undergo HM Government Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks following offer.
About the Role
Within MBDA Operations, an opportunity has arisen for a Project Execution Manager in Industrial Transfer & Offset.
You will oversee pre-contract activities and manage contract delivery, working with local industry in export countries as well as with MBDA’s SBD IIC, Programmes, Operations, and Finance teams.
This role will involve working in a multi-cultural, challenging environment with regular travel.
Responsibilities
- Plan, simplify, and take full accountability for the success of multi-national industrial transfer and offset projects, ensuring on-time delivery, cost-control, and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with:
- Export suppliers
- Customers
- Sub-contractors
- Conduct regular domestic and international progress reviews.
- Ensure accurate reporting of project performance up to Director level.
- Provide technical insight to address production and industrialisation issues.
- Challenge performance to uphold project success.
- Guide pre- and post-contract activities to meet high standards.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to fulfil transfer contract requirements.
- Assist in tendering/bidding processes for industrial transfer and offset contracts.
- Prepare and manage contract risk, opportunity, and budgeting plans.
- Act with export control awareness and accountability.
- Develop international working experience while managing medium-to-large budgets.
- Oversee multi-work-package projects across domains including:
- Electronic engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Assembly and Test engineering

- Supplier relationship management (business, project and quality).
- Engagement with multi-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, finance, and export).
- Expansion of product knowledge and manufacturing processes across global transfer campaigns.

Requirements
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong project management credentials, with proven experience aligning fixed-cost programs of significant value.
- Hands-on technical/engineering experience, ideally within manufacturing and production environments.
- Industrialsation expertise and awareness of global production techniques.
- Desirable: Experience in export, international business, and supplier engagement.
- Preferred qualifications: Degree-level education, but exceptional candidates with extensive experience will be considered.
- Leadership mindset: Natural ability to guide and mentor teams, prioritise strategically, and address operational needs.
- Communication advocate: Excellent grasp of multi-cultural/multi-functional collaboration and tight deadlines.
