Industrial Welder / Fabricator

Established in 1988, Apex Pumps is a leading designer and manufacturer of centrifugal pumps. With 30 years of success, we’ve earned an enviable reputation for the quality and endurance of our products.

We are now looking for an Industrial Welder / Fabricator to join us on a part-time, permanent basis, working 25.5 hours across three days per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industrial or factory welder with MIG and/or TIG welding skills and steel working experience to join our well-established and respected manufacturing business.

The Role

As an Industrial Welder / Fabricator, you will manufacture and assemble high-quality components for our range of engineered products.

Specifically, you will carry out MIG and TIG welding, fabrication and assembly activities, preparing and fitting components, interpreting engineering drawings and producing high-quality welds using a range of materials, including mild steel and stainless steel.

You will inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, carry out finishing operations and basic manual machining where required, and use a range of workshop tools and equipment to support efficient production.

Additionally, you will:

  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Look after welding equipment, tools and machinery
  • Work closely with the production team to meet quality and delivery targets
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes
  • Comply with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures

About You

To be considered as an Industrial Welder / Fabricator, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a general industrial or factory welding role
  • Experience working with mild steel and/or stainless steel
  • Good practical MIG and/or TIG welding skills
  • The ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings
  • A flexible approach with a willingness to support different areas of production
  • A strong commitment to safe working practices and maintaining an organised workplace
