Role Overview
The Industry Cost Analyst plays a key role within the Optimisation & Structuring Group, supporting our operational retail pricing function and ensuring the accurate pricing of industry non-energy costs across GB retail and generation contracts. Reporting to the Retail Pricing Lead, the role combines technical expertise, analytical capability, and commercial awareness to maintain accurate pricing models, support operational pricing activities, and provide specialist advice on industry charging to stakeholders across the business.
You will also be responsible for forecasting and maintaining industry cost data, supporting the implementation and ongoing management of new retail pricing services, and ensuring pricing reflects evolving regulatory and market changes. Working closely with teams including Sales, Trading, Operations, Risk, and Finance, you will contribute to new product development, communicates industry cost developments internally and externally, and helps safeguard the business by ensuring pricing accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to information security policies.

- Numerical / analytical experience, ideally with some financial modelling experience
- Applied experience of modelling industry costs, including network charging and policy costs
- Understanding of the GB electricity market (wholesale, capacity, balancing markets) and an understanding of energy market product structures
- Understanding of macroeconomic factors, which may affect industry costs (inflation, supply/demand)
- Knowledge of querying databases and strong capability in Excel

Hybrid Working
