Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) - Graduate Intern

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) - Graduate Intern. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide administrative support to the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) team in delivering an effective and responsive service that enhances the student experience.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for student enquiries, including responding to face-to-face enquiries within the Student Support Hub and supporting the management of telephone and email enquiries.
  • Assisting in the planning, organisation and delivery of student experience activities, including Welcome, induction and graduation, as well as student events held throughout the academic year, in order to support and enhance the student experience.
  • Working flexibly across the School of Social Sciences to support student experience initiatives, including Academic Advising, PASS, peer mentoring, and student voice activities, and support the Justice Hub projects when necessary.
  • Assisting in the creation, updating and dissemination of student communications through digital newsletters, digital assets, social media updates, and the Student Community SharePoint site.
  • Assisting in the organisation, attendance and minute-taking of Student Voice Committee meetings, ensuring that student voice is represented and that feedback is appropriately recorded, communicated and acted upon.

About You

We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria

  • Graduated from a UK university within the last two academic years.
  • Good organisational skills, and able to prioritise work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Have experience and/or an interest in the area of Information, Advice and Guidance. Experience and interest may include having held student volunteer roles such as Peer Support, Course Representative, Student Ambassador, Wellbeing Champion or similar role.
  • Excellent digital literacy skills with experience of standard IT packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc) and social media and a willingness to learn new software packages.
