Job Summary

As an Information Management Officer, you’ll play a key role in enhancing how information is organised, managed, and utilised across the organisation.

You’ll contribute to developing effective information management and digital practices, working with tools like SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to ensure structured, accessible, and efficient information handling.

Your impact will help drive:

Collaborating with digital and business teams, you’ll support information governance, Freedom of Information (FOI), and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

You’ll:

  • Support effective information management practices by ensuring structured, compliant, and secure handling of information.
  • Contribute to design and improvement of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams sites, providing clear user guidance.
  • Support FOI and EIR requests by managing processes, offering advice, and assisting with responses and reviews.
  • Maintain high information governance and compliance standards, including training delivery, guidance development, and process improvements.
  • Work closely with multi-discipline teams (technical experts, business users) to drive organisational maturity in information management.
  • Ensure information aligns with organisational priorities in a secure, accurate manner.

Salary

  • New entrants start at the minimum of the pay band (≈ Civil Service earnings).
  • This role sits at HEO Grade, offering £37,579 per year.

Working Arrangements

  • Standard hours: 37 hours/week (minus part-time flexibility, 30 hours+).
  • Office location: Bristol office (hybrid policy; attendance flexible).

Person Specifications

Essential Criteria (Key Requirements)

  • Experience in managing information workflows with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to develop processes, training, or governance guidance for information systems.
  • Proficiency in handling multiple priorities and working in ambiguous scenarios.
  • Ability to collaborate in multi-discipline teams, including technical experts and end-users.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
