# Document Controller / Information Manager

## Purpose & Scope of the Role
As a Document Controller / Information Manager, your core responsibility is to oversee consultation and dissemination of project documentation within a Common Data Environment (CDE) across multiple engineering projects. You’ll operate in compliance with BS EN ISO 19650 standards, as well as company procedures and client requirements.
Collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will:
- Maintain structured project file hierarchies.
- Support effective delivery of project information.
- Perform quality assurance checks on documents.
- Manage document workflows aligned with operational processes.
- Guide teams on optimal utilisation of the CDE.
- Embed best practices into processes for continuous improvement.
Your role will ensure accurate, compliant, and accessible project documentation remains central to successful delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects. This involves enhancing collaboration, mitigating risks, and supporting seamless workflows across projects.

## Core Responsibilities
Document & Information Management
- Maintain oversight of shared, published, and archived documentation within the CDE.
- Implement and sustain document naming conventions and information standards.
- Adhere strictly to company procedures governing document control.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct rigorous checks on project documentation for adherence to company, sector, and legal standards.
- Lead compliance with BS EN ISO 19650 and associated project-specific frameworks.
- Identify non-compliance efficiently and escalate or resolve discrepancies via established protocols.
Common Data Environment Administration
- Structure and maintain project file systems, workflows, and virtual containers.
- Support information exchanges against client requirements and regulatory processes.
- Administer document transmittals using Viewpoint for Projects.
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Support
- Uphold Information Delivery Plans (MIDPs and TIDPs) to ensure alignment across project phases.
- Assign project documentation to work packages efficiently and accurately.
- Facilitate seamless discussions on digital processes and information delivery with senior stakeholders and team members.
Continuous Improvement & User Support
- Deliver training and guidance to project teams on effective CDE utilisation.
- Compile and share best practice examples within the Digital team.
- Contribute to ongoing optimisation of information management frameworks.
## Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Proven expertise in Document Controlling or Information Management, particularly in construction consultancy or main contracting environments.
- Essential:
- In-depth knowledge of BS EN ISO 19650 standards.
- Proficient handling of Viewpoint for Projects (or equivalent).
- Strong organisational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to obtain a UK Security Clearance (preferred SCD fame).
- Advantageous:
- Familiarity with ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 suite.

## Working Environment & Expectations
Flexibility & Location
- Hybrid working model: UK office-based, supplemented by home working hours, dependent on project requirements.
- Fully UK-known driving licence (for site or meeting travel) is advantageous.
- Occasional on-site visits for client engagement or project alignment may be requested.
Security Requirements
- Mandatory eligibility to undertake UK Security Clearance (SCD will support this process).
