You’ll be part of a collaborative security team, helping to strengthen governance, compliance and risk management practices, while supporting the delivery of critical programmes that make a real difference.
As an Information Security Advisor, you’ll support governance, risk, and compliance activities across Mission Systems, working closely with the Information Security Manager to promote best practices, improve security awareness and help build a positive security culture. Key Responsibilities
The role will involve:
- Supporting the ongoing alignment of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and ISO 27001 certification requirements
- Leading the coordination and delivery of internal audit activities that support information security compliance
- Tracking audit findings and driving timely follow-up actions and remediation activities
- Assisting with security training, education, and awareness initiatives across the business
- Providing guidance on information security risks, policies, documentation, and Information Asset Owner responsibilities

Work Arrangements: This role is full time (37 hours per week) and provides hybrid working arrangements, including days onsite in Bristol and at least one day working remotely. Candidates must be able to travel to Bristol.
Essential Experience & Requirements
Experience:
- Experience working within an information security, governance, risk, compliance, or IT environment
- Exposure to structured governance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or similar compliance standards
- Understanding of core information security principles, including risk awareness and data handling practices
- Experience maintaining accurate records, documentation, and compliance-related information
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Certifications (Advantageous but Not Essential):
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISMP, ISO27001 Foundation)
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
