Core Responsibilities
As the Information Security Advisor, your key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the alignment of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) with ISO 27001 certification requirements
- Leading the coordination and delivery of internal audit activities to ensure security compliance
- Tracking audit findings and driving timely remediation actions
- Supporting security training, education, and awareness initiatives across the organisation
- Providing guidance on information security risks, policies, documentation, and Information Asset Owner responsibilities

Hybrid Working Flexibility
This role operates on a full-time basis (37 hours per week), with hybrid working arrangements. You’ll need to be based onsite in Bristol, though you’ll have flexible days at home. Travel to the Bristol location is expected.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience working in information security, governance, risk, compliance, or IT environments
- Familiarity with structured compliance frameworks, such as ISO 27001
- Clear understanding of core security principles, including risk awareness and data handling
- Extensive experience in maintaining accurate records, documentation, and compliance information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Recommended
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISMP, ISO 27001 Foundation) are advantageous but not mandatory
Security Clearance
Candidates must be able to obtain and **maintain **Standard (BPSS) **and **Security Check (SC) security clearances.
