Information Security Consultant
GRC Specialist | Housing Sector
Salary: Up to £49,000 Location: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in Worcester)
A well-established housing organisation, investing heavily in cybersecurity and governance, seeks a GRC Specialist to shape and mature security governance practices from an early stage.
Pushed for by succession planning, this role offers the chance to influence policy development, strengthen controls, enhance compliance activities, and contribute to a growing security function.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
- Support group governance, risk, and compliance initiatives across the business
- Identify and manage information security risks and vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve security awareness and embed best practices
- Contribute to compliance initiatives, assurance activities, and security programs
- Review and enhance existing processes and controls to ensure they remain effective
- Support Cyber Essentials initiatives, awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement
- Assist in driving governance and controls enhancements within the security function

Key Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Experience
- Proven GRC background and experience implementing or operating against recognised frameworks, such as:
- ISO 27001 / ISO 27002
- ISO 27005 (risk management)
- NIST CSF
- NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)
- CIS Controls
- Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus
- PCI DSS
