ABOUT THE CLIENT
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK organisation with a strong reputation for investing in technology, security and its people. As the business continues to strengthen its Cyber Security function, they're looking to appoint an experienced Information Governance Analyst to play a key role in protecting and managing critical information assets.
You'll join a collaborative Cyber Security team where you'll have the opportunity to shape information governance processes, work with stakeholders across the business and make a genuine impact.
THE INFORMATION GOVERNANCE ANALYST ROLE
Reporting to the Cyber Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Manager, you'll take ownership of the governance of the organisation's information assets. Using Microsoft Purview as your primary platform, you'll help ensure information is retained appropriately, classified correctly and protected through the application of suitable security controls.

Working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you'll develop and maintain governance documentation, monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and support the continual improvement of information governance practices across the business.
INFORMATION GOVERNANCE ANALYST ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proven experience in Information Governance or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of information governance principles including data retention, classification and information security
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview across its governance capabilities
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business

Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of UK data protection legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience developing and implementing information governance policies and procedures
- Experience working with both technical and business teams
- Professional certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E or equivalent Information Governance qualifications
