IT Infrastructure Team Leader
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Lead. Inspire. Elevate Service Excellence.
Our global client, a recognised market leader with a complex international technology estate, is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Team Leader to join their Infrastructure function on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This opportunity has arisen due to the successful secondment of the current post-holder into another role within the organisation, creating an excellent chance for an established people leader to step into a highly visible position and make an immediate impact.
You will play a critical role in leading a team of Infrastructure Engineers across the UK, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational excellence, stakeholder satisfaction, and continuous improvement across core infrastructure services.
The Opportunity
The Infrastructure team is responsible for delivering and supporting a broad range of critical technology services including:
- Server & Compute
- Storage and Backup
- Network Services (LAN, WAN, Firewall and Connectivity)
- Unified Communications
- Collaboration Platforms and Exchange Services
Working alongside an Infrastructure Manager and another Team Leader, you will help lead a team of circa 14 engineers across Glasgow and London, ranging from Junior Engineers through to Senior Infrastructure Specialists. You will be responsible for ensuring workloads are effectively prioritised, service levels are achieved, operational processes are followed, and your team continues to develop and thrive.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
