IT Infrastructure Operations Leader

IT Infrastructure Operations Leader required on a 12-month fixed term contract to lead an infrastructure engineering team within a leading international organisation. This is a key role responsible for supporting a global team of engineers, improving service delivery, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the organisation’s technology foundations continue to evolve in line with business needs.

The Role

You will take a leading role in managing and developing a global infrastructure engineering team, ensuring engineers are supported, priorities are effectively managed, and technology services are delivered to a consistently high standard.

This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, service delivery, and operational improvement. You will help create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, while ensuring the team has the structure, direction, and support required to deliver effectively.

You will be responsible for improving ways of working, supporting successful delivery of operational activities, managing challenges through to resolution, and acting as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT leader with a background in infrastructure, service delivery, or technical operations who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and making a visible impact within a global technology environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and developing a global infrastructure engineering team, supporting performance, collaboration, and career development
  • Creating a strong team culture focused on service quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring operational priorities are effectively managed and resources are aligned to business needs
  • Driving improvements across service delivery, processes, and ways of working
  • Supporting effective management of incidents, escalations, and operational challenges
  • Ensuring technology changes are delivered in a controlled and effective way
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing confidence around service performance and improvements
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and the overall delivery of infrastructure services

What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading infrastructure, IT operations or technical support teams
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of developing and motivating technical teams
  • Experience delivering high-quality IT services within a complex organisation
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive improvements in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams
  • Experience managing escalations and ensuring successful outcomes
  • Understanding of IT service management principles and operational processes
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar would be beneficial
