Could you lead a heritage railway on a journey to the next generation of Information Technology? This is an unusual opportunity where a broad range of skills are needed. The railway is a small business with many facets, a wide range of software applications used, and a network which reaches over the forty miles of our route. As a senior manager you would have the opportunity to be part of the team shaping the future of our railway.
The role would suit an IT professional with an interest in Heritage Railways and a desire to work in a different environment. The role is located in North Wales in our railway offices.
We can offer you:
- Annual salary in the range of £40k - dependent on experience
- Full time hours to be worked at times to suit candidate / to meet operational need
- A minimum of 28 days paid holiday, inclusive of all bank and public holidays
- Enrolment into the company pension scheme after a qualifying period
- Company enhanced sick pay
- Staff discounts and travel benefits on the Ff&WHR, and on national rail according to the Rail Staff Travel rules in place at the time of employment.

The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring that all IT infrastructure, business systems, operational technologies, cybersecurity controls, telephony and digital services support the organisation's commercial, operational, safety, and customer experience objectives.
Core Skills
- Significant senior IT leadership experience
- Proven experience developing and delivering IT strategies
- Extensive experience of a wide range of IT solutions and software packages
- Experience overseeing cybersecurity programmes and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing complex business-critical systems and operational technologies
- Degree-level qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems; or equivalent professional experience
- Experience within the heritage, tourism or railway sectors would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Budget, project, supplier and contract management skills
- Business acumen and commercial awareness
- Team development and leadership skills
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Full driving licence valid in the UK is essential
- The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable
