Information Technology Manager
Deputy Director of Data and Technology
Salary: £75,000 – £80,000 Location: London / hybrid working Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible and part-time options considered, up to 0.8 FTE)

In this critical role, the Deputy Director of Data and Technology will drive this transformation, collaborating closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to deliver a strategy that balances governance, change, and future-proofing our operations.
The Role
This strategic leadership position serves as the focal point for technology strategy, partnering with the business to enhance frontline impact and organisational objectives through robust data and technology capabilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Tommy’s data and technology strategies, including roadmaps, priorities, and long-term vision.
- Identify rapid, achievable solutions alongside longer-term transformation goals.
- Strengthen data governance, ensuring high data quality, actionable insights, and improved reporting.
- Optimise data integration and usage across systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee core IT systems, outsourced IT Managed Service Providers (MSPs), cyber security, and business continuity frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the database team to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Chair the Technology Advisory Group, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration.
- Act as a trusted external business partner, fostering clear communication and trust across the organisation.

About You
We seek a collaborative, credible, and innovative leader with a proven track record in data, technology, and organisational transformation. Success may stem from a charity sector background, but sector experience is not mandatory—candidates from other industries who can bring expertise and fresh perspectives are actively encouraged.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in:
- Leading data, technology, and change initiatives, with a demonstrated ability to drive meaningful outcomes.
- Developing and executing organisation-wide strategies and roadmaps.
- Managing critical systems, budgets, and priorities in a complex environment.
- Building and enhancing outsourced MSP relationships, ensuring maximum value and service delivery.
- Translating technical challenges into practical, accessible decisions for non-technical stakeholders.
- Influencing senior leadership and looping diverse teams into transformation efforts.
- Navigating change with empathy and integrity, fostering trust and support among colleagues.
- While not an expectation for deep technical subject matter expertise, this role requires leadership confidence across data, systems, technology, vendors, and organisational dynamics—balancing both vision and pragmatism.
