Information Technology Program Manager
UK IT Programme Manager – Critical Role
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our UK Information Technology team for a senior, business-critical UK IT Programme Manager. This role carries end-to-end oversight, coordination and governance of complex, multi-disciplinary IT programmes supporting DP World’s terminal operations and strategic objectives.
As the UK IT Programme Manager, you will provide structure, governance, and leadership across the entire programme lifecycle, from early discovery and planning through design, delivery, deployment, and post-implementation stabilisation. Your accountability includes programme direction, dependency management, risk/issue control, stakeholder engagement, and supplier performance, ensuring outcomes are operationally resilient, secure, and alignment to business priorities.
The position, based at either DP World London Gateway (Essex) or DP World Southampton, requires regular cross-site travel to support coordination and assurance.
How You Will Contribute
- Provide end-to-end leadership and governance for the UK IT programme portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives across:
- Systems, applications, infrastructure
- Networking, cybersecurity, and service delivery
- Set clear programme direction, priorities, and delivery structure, managing interdependencies, risks, issues, and change across multiple workstreams.
- Oversee the full programme lifecycle:
- Discovery, requirements definition, planning, design, and architecture approvals
- Delivery, testing, deployment, and benefits realisation
- Maintain robust governance artefacts, including:
- Integrated plans
- RAID logs, dependency maps, change controls
- Readiness assessments, cutover plans
- Coordinate delivery across:
- IT teams, operations, engineering functions
- External suppliers
- Ensure technical, security, and operational readiness standards:
- Secure go-live approvals and transition to BAU
- Monitor programme performance against:
- Agreed milestones, budgets, quality, and risk thresholds
- Proactively resolve blockers to maintain momentum
- Lead programme-wide testing coordination, covering:
- Functional, UAT, performance, resilience, and integration testing
- Dependency and readiness verification
- Support secure-by-design delivery:
- Collaborate with Architecture, Cyber Security, and Engineering teams
- Address risks, controls, and compliance requirements
- Manage third-party vendors/delivery partners:
- Ensure accountability for outcomes and contractual obligations
- Provide structured reporting to sponsors and leadership:
- Progress, risks, dependencies, and required actions
- Build alignment with wider DP World objectives:
- Engage with UK terminals, regional IT teams, and Group IT
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying:
- Opportunities to optimise delivery approaches, infrastructure, and operational readiness.

What You Will Bring
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale, multi-disciplinary IT programmes in complex enterprise environments.
- Background in managing systems, applications, development, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and service delivery initiatives.
- Ability to orchestrate multiple teams, suppliers, and parallel workstreams with clear dependency management.
- Experience in 24/7 operational or service-led environments (e.g., ports, logistics, critical infrastructure).
- Technical expertise in:
- High-availability, resilience, disaster recovery, integration, security, and service transition.
- Ability to challenge and assure design decisions.
- Strong governance, planning, and delivery discipline:
- Confidence in producing and managing programme artefacts and reporting.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing senior leadership.
- Experience with structured frameworks (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalents).
- Collaborative, delivery-focused mindset with emphasis on:
- Operational stability, risk management, and measurable business outcomes.
