Information Technology Program Manager

Senior UK IT Programme Manager – UK Role

This is a senior, business-critical role within our UK Information Technology team at DP World. The UK IT Programme Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end oversight, coordination, and governance of complex, multi-disciplinary IT programmes that support DP World’s terminal operations and strategic objectives.

Role Overview

The UK IT Programme Manager will ensure the successful delivery of a portfolio of interdependent initiatives, spanning:

  • Systems & applications
  • Development
  • Infrastructure & networks
  • Service delivery
  • Operational technology
  • Cyber security

Responsible for running the programme from early discovery and planning, through design, delivery, deployment, and post-implementation stabilisation, ensuring outcomes are:

✔ Operationally resilient ✔ Secure ✔ Alignments with business priorities

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership & Governance

  • Provide end-to-end leadership for IT programme delivery across DP World London Gateway and DP World Southampton, ensuring adherence to scope, cost, timeline, and quality expectations.
  • Drive clear programme direction, priorities, and delivery structure, managing:
    • Risks & issues
    • Interdependencies (across IT teams, operations, engineering, and third-party suppliers)
    • Supplier performance accountability
  • Regular travel required between Essex (London Gateway) and Southampton terminals.

Programme Execution

  • Ensure the full programme lifecycle (from discovery to post-go-live stabilisation) delivers measurable business outcomes.
  • Maintain robust governance artefacts, including:
    • Integrated plans
    • RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs
    • Dependency maps
    • Change controls
    • Readiness assessments
    • Cutover plans
  • Coordinate delivery across:
    • IT teams
    • Operations
    • Engineering functions
    • External suppliers
  • Enforce technical, security, and operational readiness standards before go-live.
  • Manage performance against milestones, budgets, quality, and risk thresholds, intervening early to mitigate blockers.

Testing & Risks

  • Lead programme-wide testing (functional, UAT, performance, resilience, and integration testing).
  • Ensure secure-by-design delivery through collaboration with Architecture, Cyber Security, and Engineering teams.
  • Monitor and manage risks against compliance requirements.

Stakeholder and Supplier Management

  • Report progress, risks, dependencies to sponsors and leadership in regular, clear, structured updates.
  • Manage third-party vendors while aligning with contractual and service obligations.
  • Build strong cross-terminal alignment with regional IT and Group IT.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process optimisation opportunities for delivery, infrastructure, and operational readiness.

Location & Travel

  • Flexible location: London Gateway (Essex) or Southampton terminals.
  • Frequent travel between both sites (mandatory for cross-delivery coordination).

Key Requirements

✅ Proven large-scale IT programme delivery in multi-disciplinary enterprise environments. ✅ Strong background in:

  • Systems, applications, development
  • Infrastructure, networking
  • Cyber security
  • Service delivery management ✅ Experience coordinating multi-teams, suppliers, and dependencies simultaneously within a fast-paced environment. ✅ Exposure to 24/7 operational/logistics environments (ports, logistics, infrastructure) is preferred. ✅ Broad technical understanding:
  • High availability

  • Integrated architecture
  • Security controls
