Information Technology Service Desk Manager
IT Service Ops Manager
Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days in office) £60,000 – £70,000 + 15% Bonus
We are partnering with a high-growth, technology-led organisation to appoint an experienced IT Service Ops Manager to lead and evolve their global service operations capability.
This is a highly visible leadership role, responsible for ensuring the delivery of a first-class IT service across a global user base, while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and long-term service strategy.
The Role
Reporting into the IT Director, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of IT Service Operations, overseeing both day-to-day service delivery and the strategic development of service capabilities. You will lead a service-focused team and act as a key interface between technology and the wider business, ensuring that IT services are aligned to organisational needs and delivered to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the delivery of IT Service Operations across the business
- Define, implement, and maintain ITSM and IT security policies and processes
- Develop and report on IT service KPIs, driving data-led improvements
- Lead incident, problem, and change management processes
- Conduct root cause analysis and proactive trend analysis to reduce incidents
- Oversee IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new/upgraded services with appropriate documentation and early-life support
- Manage End User Computing (EUC), including hardware refresh programmes
- Own software licensing and vendor/supplier relationships
- Support IT procurement activities
- Contribute to IT roadmap planning and project delivery
- Act as a trusted business partner across senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business impact
- Drive a culture of continuous service improvement and high-quality customer service

About You
We’re looking for a strong service leader with a blend of technical knowledge, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience leading IT Service Operations within a global or multi-site environment
- Strong leadership capability, with experience managing and developing technical teams
- Deep understanding of ITSM frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, etc.)
- Experience driving service improvement through data, metrics, and reporting
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of:
- Network security, WAN/LAN technologies
- Microsoft environments (Active Directory, Azure)
- EUC and Windows domain administration
- Data governance and GDPR principles
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
