IT Support Engineer | Google Workspace, Entra ID, Intune | Newly Standalone Consumer Platform Used by Millions
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Location: Hybrid, 3 days a week in the office (Central London)
Experience Required: 2-3 years' IT support experience
About the Role
Two weeks ago, this business split away from a much larger group to become its own standalone company, with its own IT function to build from the ground up. It's a consumer platform used by millions of people every month.
You'd be joining as IT Support Engineer, sitting just above first line and not quite second: day to day tickets, laptop hardware, access requests, and hands-on ownership of Google Workspace and Entra ID across a 500 to 750 person business finding its feet as its own entity. It's not a heads-down desk job either. This team goes for a beer, runs quarterly socials (F1 simulator days, cricket, clay pigeon shooting), and wants someone who'll turn up to that as readily as they turn up to the ticket queue.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What They're Looking For (Non-Negotiables):
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Meet) - hands-on, not just used personally
- Entra ID (Azure AD/SSO) - managing users and groups
- Microsoft Intune - device fleet management
- macOS and Windows 10/11 - comfortable with hands-on hardware break-fix
- 2-3 years' IT support experience, above first line
What You'll Work With:
- Slack
- Zoom
- Freshservice (ITSM ticketing)
- Jira
- Office 365, run alongside Google Workspace
Nice to Haves:
- n8n or similar workflow automation tools
- Claude or other AI tools used to cut down manual ticket work
- Experience in a business mid-restructure or carve-out
Why Join / Projects:
This isn't a support desk that's been running the same way for a decade. The business only became standalone a fortnight ago, so the IT function is being built rather than maintained, and there's genuine room to bring in automation and AI tooling to cut the grunt work rather than just clear tickets faster. The hiring manager wants gumption: someone who looks for a better way of doing something rather than waiting to be told. You'd also get real exposure to access management and executive support across a business that's actively buying and selling other companies, work that's rarely handed to someone this early in their career.

They're moving on this one, and there's already interest from other candidates, so worth getting in touch soon if it's of interest.
