IT Support Engineer

About the Role

We are working with a globally recognised high-performance engineering organisation to recruit an IT Support Engineer to join a fast-paced technical support team based in Brixworth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in an IT Support or Service Desk environment to work within a cutting-edge motorsport and engineering setting, supporting critical infrastructure and operational technology services in a customer-focused role.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A strong customer service mindset
  • A solid understanding of ITIL principles
  • The ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • A passion for elite motorsport

Purpose of the Role

  • Deliver first-class IT operational support across specialised engineering and operational business areas
  • Work closely within a small, highly collaborative support team to provide exceptional service to key stakeholders
  • Participate in structured shadowing and training programmes to support remote operational teams during live global events
  • Balance competing priorities effectively while managing stakeholder expectations
  • Deliver operational and project-based technical support against demanding SLAs and tight deadlines

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver technical solutions across all stages of the ITIL service lifecycle
  • Provide exceptional support while assisting and mentoring wider support team members
  • Ensure all work adheres to defined processes, architectural standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
  • Build strong working relationships internally and with third-party suppliers
  • Take ownership of support requests through to resolution and customer sign-off
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement across infrastructure, support processes, security, availability, and performance
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the IT function

Required Experience

  • Windows 10/11 and mobile operating systems
  • Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory and Group Policy management
  • Networking fundamentals, including:
    • TCP/IP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • WAN
    • LAN
  • Knowledge of storage systems, monitoring, performance, and availability tools
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience

Desirable Skills

  • Microsoft certifications
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Strong interest in motorsport, live operations, or high-performance engineering environments
