Information Technology System Analyst

IT Systems Analyst – Thistle Seafoods

About the Company Thistle Seafoods is one of the largest family-owned manufacturers of quality seafood products in Europe. We supply premium products across multiple price points to leading retail and food service customers in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, and Australia.

Our operations span two key sites:

  • Head Office: Peterhead, North-East Scotland
  • Secondary Site: Uddingston, Glasgow outskirts

The Role

As the IT Systems Analyst, your primary responsibility is to ensure that Thistle Seafoods’ IT systems run effectively, efficiently, and optimally to support our business operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all IT systems, including hardware and software, for business users
  • Act as the interface with our outsourced IT service support provider
  • Oversee the management of the outsourced IT support service, ensuring:
    • All service tickets are resolved within contractual deadlines
    • Timely and efficient issue resolution
  • Serving as front-line business support for our ERP system (Unity)
  • Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to:
    • Maximise the functionality of Unity across all operations
    • Optimise business processes for improved efficiency
  • Contributing to business requirements analysis and process documentation
  • Designing and maintaining report writing for Unity and QlikView
  • Supporting and championing brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by:
    • Facilitating engagement between teams, customers, and suppliers
    • Driving continuous improvement through effective communication
  • Undertaking additional tasks as directed by Directors and Senior Managers

Required Experience

  • Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems and associated software (e.g., Office Suite)
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferred)
  • EDI setup and maintenance (preferred)
  • AQL/SQL knowledge (preferred)
  • QlikView reporting & administration (or other BI tools) (preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (analysis, pivot tables, and data management)

IIIQ Qualification/Certification (optional but advantageous)


Working Hours

Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility around operational needs)
