Location: Belfast City Centre, as part of our hybrid working model.

Infrastructure and public services are vital to how we live, work, and grow economically. Yet rising societal demands, climate goals, and sustainability pressures create complex challenges for those developing and operating critical infrastructure and services. These are compounded by fiscal constraints, limited capacity, evolving regulations, and global disruptions.
Despite this, there’s significant opportunity for innovation and collaboration. KPMG works across sectors — including government, healthcare, housing, transport, and energy — to help clients navigate these challenges and deliver better infrastructure and public services. With over 20 years of experience advising on Ireland’s / Northern Ireland’s most impactful infrastructure projects and public services, our expanding team continues to support transformative change across the island.
A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group
- At least 5 years previous work experience with a background relating to providing strategic, commercial and financial advice on infrastructure capital projects and transformative public services
- Experience developing feasibility studies and business cases for investment programmes in one or more key sectors such as transport, housing, utilities, digital/technology, health and education
- Experience with providing the supporting analysis for the appraisal of capital investment programmes and transformative public services
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Knowledge and application of Better Business Cases NI
- Experience of working with central government departments and agencies or with local government
- Numerate with strong analytical skills. Financial modelling skills are also beneficial
- Appreciation of economic analysis and techniques applicable to large capital infrastructure projects
- An appetite to apply yourself on a broad range of client challenges and learn new skills in a challenging and supportive environment
- A strong client relationship track record
- Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams

Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect:
- Providing strategic advice on approaches to the development, procurement and delivery of major infrastructure projects and contracts for the provision of critical government services across key areas including transport, housing, energy, utilities, digital/technology, education and health
- Critical review and development of business cases in accordance with Better Business Cases NI and Green Book methodology
- Providing commercial and financial advice on the procurement of major investment projects and critical public services across a range of sectors, including advising on tender and contract documentation, leading dialogue and negotiations with bidders and the evaluation of the tenders received
- Managing engagements and junior team members on projects, ensuring that the quality of our deliverables is high
- Helping to manage the day-to-day relationship with key client contacts, ensuring our service is responsive to their needs
- Ensuring KPMG's quality and risk management procedures are completed to the appropriate standard
- Applying innovative and creative techniques to solve complex problems on client engagements.

KPMG has been at the forefront of providing commercial, financial and procurement advice on government and infrastructure projects across the island of Ireland for over 20 years. Our Infrastructure and Government team, working on an all-Ireland basis across Dublin, Cork and Belfast, provides the opportunity to work on strategically important, highly challenging projects that make a real difference to the people and economies of this island. Our work is increasingly focused on strategic themes such as cities, technology, future mobility, sustainability, and asset management.
