IT Infrastructure Architect

IT Infrastructure Architect, Bristol

  • Salary: up to £72,000 plus enhanced pension and further benefits
  • Location: Predominantly onsite work with some flexibility where possible

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a highly respected technology and engineering organisation delivering complex, business-critical solutions within regulated environments. They invest heavily in technical development and are open to supporting an experienced infrastructure professional taking the next step in their architecture career. Due to continued investment in their technology estate, they are looking for an IT Infrastructure Architect to join their Bristol team.

THE IT INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT ROLE

You will design, develop and govern enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises, hybrid and private cloud environments. Working within predominantly Microsoft-based ecosystems, you will produce high-level and low-level designs, assess legacy environments and define practical modernisation and migration strategies.

You will work closely with infrastructure engineers, project managers, technical specialists and business stakeholders, providing architectural guidance throughout the full project lifecycle. The role covers compute, servers, storage, networking, virtualisation, identity, resilience and infrastructure integration.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience within IT infrastructure
  • Role: At least one year in a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect or closely related architecture role
  • Knowledge: Broad infrastructure knowledge covering servers, storage, networking and virtualisation
  • Environments: Strong experience within Microsoft-based enterprise environments
  • Design: Experience designing on-premises, private cloud or hybrid infrastructure solutions
  • Assessment: Experience assessing legacy estates and integrating or migrating to modern platforms
  • Documentation: Ability to produce and assure HLDs and LLDs
  • Skills: Strong stakeholder communication and technical governance skills
  • Security: Existing Security Clearance or Eligibility
