Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer (Permanent)

Rate: £55k Annual Salary + 5% Pension + 25 Days Annual Leave
Location: Remote
Clearance: BPSS
Stages: 1 Stage

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions
  • Support cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and hybrid environments
  • Build and maintain Windows and Linux server environments
  • Administer virtualisation platforms such as VMware
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity services
  • Configure and support enterprise storage and backup solutions
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologies
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Produce technical documentation, implementation guides, and support procedures
  • Participate in change, incident, and problem management processes
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and third-party suppliers

  • Strong experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Windows Server administration
  • Linux administration (Red Hat/Ubuntu)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
  • VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
  • Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, VPN)
  • Enterprise backup and recovery solutions
  • Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, or Dynatrac
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
