Infrastructure Engineer
Infrastructure Engineer – MoD DV Cleared Position
Location: Farnborough (full-time on-site) Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £65,000 DoE plus comprehensive package (25 days leave, 15% pension, company bonus)
About the Role
This opportunity is ideal for an Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in virtualised environments, cloud systems, and Defence/Native Security. You will be relying reputable secure digital solutions provider, supporting the rapid deployment of cutting-edge technology for Defence and National Security.
You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working on initiatives including:
- Secure-by-design solutions
- Cloud infrastructure
- Software development
- Cross-domain systems
- High-performance computing (HPC)
- Data platforms
- Cybersecurity
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, secure, and enhance multi-classified virtualised environments across public, private, and hybrid cloud systems
- Oversee monitoring, incident response, and planned maintenance while ensuring all platforms are:
- Secure
- Compliant
- Performing optimally
- Support continuous professional development through knowledge sharing and improvement of team capabilities

Essential Requirements
Security & Eligibility
✅ Must hold an active MoD DV clearance (British passport required due to role sensitivity)
Technical Skills
- Windows Server (2016+ administration experience)
- VMware vSphere/vCenter/VCF implementation and management
- Azure/Microsoft 365 administration (including Windows Autopilot provisioning)
- Linux expertise (CentOS/RedHat/Ubuntu)
- PowerShell scriptability and automation
- Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts, implementations, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of secured working environments and applicable protocols
Non-Negotiables
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Farnborough
Nice-to-Have (Desirable Skills)
- Kubernetes (e.g., VMware TKGI)
- DevSecOps tooling and pipelines
- Elastic Nessus or similar vulnerability scanning
- Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Vault for secret management
- Application packaging, deployment, and hardening
- Agile sprint experience
