Infrastructure Engineer
Contract Type: Up to £450 per day – Inside IR35 Contract Duration: 9 months (with potential 3-year project) Flexibility: Option for 3/4 days per week (part-time) Work Arrangement: Fully remote (UK-based) Industry: Insurance
About the Role
Working with a UK-based insurance sector client on a long-term project, the Infrastructure Engineer will:
- Serve as a point of escalation and support for the Desktop Support Group, as well as systems engineers
- Monitor Windows Server (2016–2025, using Logic Monitor), troubleshooting issues efficiently.
Required Skills & Responsibilities
- Monitor & troubleshoot: Windows Server (2016–2025) with Logic Monitor
- Patch management: Knowledge of SCCM, Windows 11 & Server patching tools, including Patch My PC integration with SCCM & InTune
- Cloud/laptop management: Expertise in Microsoft InTune for cloud-native laptop management
- Compliance & processes: Enforce change management and compliance processes
- Scripting: Automation using PowerShell
- Project execution: Work as a technical engineer on assigned projects

Nice-to-Have Skills (Not Mandatory but Preferred)
- Cloud & Microsoft 365: Support, maintain Microsoft Cloud products, including O365, Azure, Teams
- VDI & Flash Storage: Administration of VMware VDI Horizon environments with flash storage solutions
- Identity Management: Support Azure Entra ID, Windows Active Directory (AD), DNS & Group Policy Objects (GPO)
- Hypervisor Expertise: Maintenance of VMware clusters
- Azure Knowledge: Familiarity with Azure permissions, IaaS, PaaS
- Infrastructure as Code: Working with TerraForm in Azure
- Cyber Security: Experience with CyberArk
- Databases & BI: Support and maintain SQL Server & BI environments
