Infrastructure Engineer - Manchester
Location: Manchester / Hybrid Compensation: Competitive Salary + On-Call Allowance
A leading technology services organisation is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join its growing managed services team. The Role
- Monitor and manage infrastructure alerts across cloud (Azure) and on-premises environments
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents
- Coordinate and close ticket lifecycles using ITSM processes while meeting SLA targets
- Conduct daily backup validation and assist with remediation activities
- Support monthly patching for Windows, Linux, Azure, and VMware environments
- Provide VMware and Azure virtual machine administration and troubleshooting
- Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing
- Participate in a shared on-call rota, offering first-response support for critical infrastructure incidents

Requirements
- Proven experience in infrastructure support, ideally within a managed services setting
- Experience using monitoring tools and ITSM platforms
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Azure environments
- Background in backup technologies and operational support
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices
