About the Role
Our Technology team is in the midst of an exciting multi-year transformation programme. We are transitioning from traditional on-premise infrastructure to a modern hybrid cloud environment, combining private cloud IaaS with Microsoft Azure, while simultaneously completing a major network refresh that has seen us move from HPE to Fortinet infrastructure and implement a full SD-WAN architecture. This is far more than a simple cloud migration. The programme involves tackling complex challenges around legacy application compatibility, data sovereignty, security, and regulatory compliance within a highly regulated professional services environment.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and evolving our hybrid cloud estate. Working alongside experienced senior engineers, you'll gain exposure to both cutting-edge Azure technologies and complex legacy environments, contributing directly to one of the firm's most strategically important technology programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around two years of infrastructure experience who is looking to accelerate their cloud engineering career within a collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking team.
Key Responsibilities
-
Cloud Platform Engineering
- Support and maintain Azure infrastructure including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall and Network Security Groups.
- Assist with the management of both Azure and private cloud IaaS environments, ensuring consistency across platforms.
- Contribute to our ongoing cloud migration programme, supporting testing, cutovers, and post-migration validation activities.
- Help maintain Azure subscriptions and Landing Zone governance standards.
-
Infrastructure Transformation & Migration
- Work alongside infrastructure and application teams to assess legacy systems and their cloud readiness.
- Support lift-and-shift migration activities, gaining exposure to re-platforming and containerisation technologies.
- Assist with integrations between cloud and on-premise systems.
- Document existing infrastructure and support remediation and decommissioning plans.
-
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory and security standards including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR, and SRA requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities through the provision of documentation and compliance evidence.
- Contribute to data residency, classification, and governance initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
