A leading global asset manager, responsible for assets under management across energy, precious metals, agriculture, FX, absolute return, multi-asset, and specialist investment strategies, is looking to hire an Infrastructure Engineer to work within their current desk support team.
About the Role
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will support the day-to-day operation and evolution of a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment. The role sits within a technology team responsible for maintaining a hybrid infrastructure estate spanning Azure cloud services, Microsoft enterprise platforms, and on-premise VMware environments.
You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of the infrastructure that supports multiple front-office teams, while also contributing to longer-term infrastructure initiatives such as data centre migration and modernisation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day operational running of a large enterprise infrastructure environment, working across both Azure cloud platforms and on-premise infrastructure
- Provisioning and managing infrastructure for multiple front-office teams, ensuring environments are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business requirements
- Maintaining and supporting a large Azure environment, including identity management, authentication services, and enterprise applications
- Working extensively across the Microsoft technology stack, such as Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
- Monitoring system performance metrics such as CPU utilisation, disk capacity, and overall infrastructure health, ensuring optimal uptime, stability, and operational efficiency
- Contributing to ongoing infrastructure improvement initiatives, including a strategic data centre migration to an externally managed environment, helping to modernise the infrastructure estate while reducing operational overhead
- Working closely with internal technology and network teams to ensure that infrastructure services continue to support critical applications, business operations, and long-term technology strategy

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
