Commodities and Energy Trading | Hybrid, London (Three days a week) – Up to £85,000 + bonus
About the Organisation
A leading global asset manager responsible for assets across energy, precious metals, agriculture, FX, absolute return, multi-asset, and specialist investment strategies is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support its technology team.
About the Role
The Infrastructure Engineer will join a team responsible for maintaining a hybrid infrastructure estate spanning:
- Azure cloud services
- Microsoft enterprise platforms
- On-premise VMware environments
Your role will focus on:
- Ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure supporting multiple front-office teams.
- Supporting critical applications, business operations, and long-term technology strategy.
- Contributing to strategic initiatives such as data centre migration and infrastructure modernisation.

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Support day-to-day operations of a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment.
- Provision and manage infrastructure across Azure and on-premise platforms, including:
- Microsoft 365
- Exchange
- Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
- Maintain active Azure environments, focusing on identity management, authentication services, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor system performance metrics, including CPU utilization, disk capacity, and infrastructure health, ensuring high uptime, stability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal technology and network teams to support critical applications and business operations.
Strategic Contributions
- Assist in the strategic migration of a data centre to an externally managed environment, reducing operational overhead.
- Drive infrastructure improvements and automation to enhance scalability and efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience
Essential Criteria
- Three to five years of experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Proficient in PowerShell and/or Python, capable of developing automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
- Strong expertise in:
- Azure cloud and VMware infrastructure
- Microsoft enterprise platforms and identity services
- Knowledge of infrastructure performance monitoring and capacity management.
- Ability to support business-as-usual (BAU) operations while working on improvement projects.
Location & Compensation
📍 Hybrid role based near Tower Bridge Station (3 days in office). 💰 Up to £85,000 per annum (base salary) + bonus.
