Job Title: Backup Engineer
Day Rate:
£400/day (INSIDE IR35)
Location:

Contract Length:
6 months (extendable)
Backup Engineer - Role & Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical expertise supporting the ongoing operation, maintenance, and optimisation of an enterprise data protection platform.
- Manage daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of backup and recovery activities within a complex infrastructure environment.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of modern cyber resilience capabilities, including cloud-based data protection and identity recovery solutions.
- Review existing backup configurations, policies, and processes, providing recommendations to improve performance, security, and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with internal infrastructure and security teams to deliver improvements, provide technical guidance, and support knowledge transfer.

Backup Engineer - Required Experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery solutions within large-scale environments.
- Experience with Rubrik (support and project work)
- Knowledge of cloud-based data protection, Microsoft Azure, Entra ID / Azure AD, and identity protection concepts.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex backup, recovery, infrastructure, and operational issues.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments, ideally financial services, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
