Infrastructure Engineer
Infrastructure Engineer – London Bridge, Fully Remote (Hybrid Postponed Until Six Months In)
Salary: £50,000–£60,000
Location: Office-based (London Bridge), transitioning to hybrid after six months
This established business is hiring an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to bolster its IT team in London Bridge. A hands-on, multidisciplinary role ideal for technologists who thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven IT environment.
You’ll take ownership of 3rd-line support issues, proactively improve infrastructure and contribute to strategic technology projects. As part of a small but skilled team, you’ll balance operational support with high-impact initiatives whilst influencing new technology adoption across the business.
About the Role
No day will be the same. This position requires an all-round engineer who excels across infrastructure projects, troubleshooting, security, and operational improvements.
Former colleagues will find the environment dynamic, collaborative and collaborative – whether you're overseeing migrations, resolving critical escalations, or drafting documentation.

Key responsibilities include:
- 3rd-line escalation support for unresolved technical issues.
- Project delivery (cloud migration, infrastructure upgrades, new deployments).
- Platform maintenance (Linux/Windows, Hyper-V, Nutanix, AWS).
- Troubleshooting & remediation of system alerts and global support gaps.
- Patching, uptime assurance, and compliance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of escalations that impact business continuity.
- Strategic project execution (cross-project work despite small team size).
- Hardware management/sourcing for new servers, switches, virtual infrastructure.
- System monitoring & issue investigation, including troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Documentation & process refinement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years Linux & Windows Server infrastructure administration.
- Hands-on experience with VPN systems, routing, switching, and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge of Hyper-V and virtualisation pattern/design.
- Familiarity with Nutanix (desirable).
- Experience with AWS architecture (cloud deployments, security/operations; desirable).
- Prior experience as a 3rd-line engineer, systems integrator or senior IT specialist.
- Analytical, solution-oriented approach with speedy troubleshooting skills.
