What does this role involve?
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of modernising and running a cloud-first platform that the business depends on every day. You’ll design and build scalable, secure infrastructure across Azure, balancing performance, resilience and cost.
A big part of your role will be driving automation through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, helping to remove manual processes and create consistent, repeatable environments. You’ll also play a key role in evolving the estate, supporting the move from traditional VM-based setups towards more flexible, containerised solutions.
Day to day, you’ll monitor and optimise system performance, resolve issues before they impact users, and strengthen security across the environment. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, security and network teams to ensure everything works seamlessly, while contributing to disaster recovery planning to keep the business running no matter what.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
