IBM Z Infrastructure Engineer / Mainframe Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Sheffield or London, UK (Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite)
Contract Duration: 6+ Months (Extendable)
Experience: 10+ Years (12+ Years Preferred)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IBM Z Infrastructure Engineer / Mainframe Infrastructure Specialist with strong expertise in enterprise mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IBM Z Infrastructure, z/OS System Administration, zStorage Management, IBM OPS/MVS Automation, and CICS Administration. The role involves supporting mission-critical IBM Z platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability.

- Manage, administer, and support IBM Z mainframe infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain z/OS environments.
- Manage and optimize zStorage infrastructure and related components.
- Implement, maintain, and support IBM OPS/MVS automation solutions.
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot CICS environments.
- Provide production support and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and capacity planning.
- Work closely with cross-functional infrastructure and application teams.
- Follow enterprise operational standards and mainframe best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with IBM Z Infrastructure / Mainframe Administration.
- Hands-on expertise in z/OS System Administration.
- Experience managing zStorage environments.
- Strong knowledge of IBM OPS/MVS Automation.
- Experience administering and supporting CICS environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Strong understanding of enterprise mainframe operations.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise or banking environments is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe Infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate with global teams.
