About the Role
The Estates Adoption Team at Cornwall Council is seeking talented individuals to join our team. We are responsible for adopting new roads, footways, and drainage across the entire county. As part of the Estates Adoption Team, you will serve as our representatives on site.
Working closely with the Adoption Engineers, your key responsibility is to ensure that developers and contractors adhere to the Council’s specifications and approved drawings during construction.
Typical Weekly Activities
- Conduct site visits within your designated area, engaging with developers and contractors.
- Inspect on-site works and verify the quality of materials used.
- Document your findings diligently.
- Review technical test results.
- Identify any construction issues and collaborate with Adoption Engineers and developers to resolve them.

About You
We’re looking for motivated candidates with:
- Experience in road construction is advantageous but not essential—applicants with a genuine interest and enthusiasm to learn will also be considered.
- Location requirement: Must be based in Cornwall.
- A provided company van will set you up for in-field travel.
Our Offer to You
- Salary: £27,326 – £37,380 per annum.
- Hours: 37 hours per week.
- Contract: Permanent.
- Location: Covering the North Coast – from Newquay to Bude.
