Infrastructure Manager
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

The Opportunity
The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, resilience, and performance of Escode’s IT infrastructure across data centres, networks, and cloud environments. This role will oversee day-to-day operations, incident management, and lifecycle processes for critical infrastructure services, enforcing adherence to security and governance standards.
The position plays a key role in:
- Maintaining service availability
- Optimising infrastructure performance
- Driving operational excellence in alignment with business objectives
Key Accountabilities
Core Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee the operation and Maintainance of core infrastructure components, including:
- Servers
- Storage
- Networking
- Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
- Ensure systems are patched, monitored, and compliant with ITIL and security standards
Incident & Continuity Management
- Lead Incident management for critical services, ensuring rapid restoration during outages
- Maintain & update playbooks for operational continuity
Performance & Scaling
- Monitor infrastructure performance and forecast capacity requirements
- Develop scaling and optimisation strategies to support business growth

Vendor & Compliance Management
- Manage relationships with infrastructure service providers
- Ensure SLAs are met and contracts align with operational needs
- Enforce regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR) and internal security policies
- Conduct regular audits and maintain documentation for infrastructure assets
Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead and mentor the infrastructure operations team
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Coordinate on-call schedules and escalation processes
Risk & Change Management
- Own infrastructure risk registers
- Ensure CAB (Change Advisory Board) approvals and disaster recovery plans are updated and tested annually
Strategic Projects & Incident Reduction
- Deliver projects and programmes to enhance business technology
- Develop backlogs, roadmaps, and long-term strategies for infrastructure improvements
- Perform root-cause analysis (both reactive and proactive) to reduce future incidents
- Ensure accurate data records in core systems (e.g., Register of Technology, ITSM, CMDB)
- Provide structured support levels (e.g., 24x7, on-call) as required
- Act as an escalation point for service issues within the team’s scope
Industry Awareness & Travel
- Stay updated on emerging trends in cloud, security, and automation
- Willingness to travel globally to Escode office locations when required
Functional & Technical Skills
Experience & Leadership
- Hands-on experience in a technical environment
- Ability to develop and align technology roadmaps with business strategy
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills across all organisational levels
- Team leadership experience, particularly in technical roles
- Relationship management expertise, including identifying and strengthening key stakeholder partnerships
- User-focused mindset with an understanding of user experience principles

- Familiarity with ISO27001, Cyber Essentials+, and GDPR requirements
- Experience in risk management and audit processes
- Project management expertise, particularly with Agile/ITIL frameworks
