Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer (BMC TrueSight)
TrueSight Engineer – 3 Month Rolling Contract
- Location: Telecoms End-Client
- Rate: £475 per day (outside IR35)
- Contract Type: Rolling 3-Month Contract
About the Role
ECS Resource Group, in collaboration with a global managed service provider, seeks a TrueSight Engineer to support a telecoms client across multiple projects.
The ideal candidate will design, configure, and maintain BMC TrueSight Operations Management to ensure seamless monitoring across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Monitoring Solutions:
- Configure and maintain BMC TrueSight Operations Management (TOM) for proactive monitoring of enterprise infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, and network services.
- Develop and optimise monitoring policies, event correlation rules, and alerting thresholds to enhance service visibility, reduce false positives, and enable early issue detection.

Maintain Platform Stability:
- Install, upgrade, patch, and support the TrueSight platform, including:
- Monitoring agents
- Integration Services
- Presentation Server
- Infrastructure Management components
- Ensure platform stability and availability.

Build Insights and Reporting:
- Create operational dashboards and reporting solutions to provide real-time insights into:
- System health
- Service availability
- Capacity trends
- Incident management
- SLA performance for both technical and business stakeholders.

Troubleshoot and Automate:
- Resolve monitoring platform issues through troubleshooting and automation.
- Use scripting (Python, PowerShell, Shell) and REST APIs for platform maintenance and routine administration.
- Integrate TrueSight with ITSM and monitoring tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Splunk) to streamline processes.

Technical Proficiency:
- Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting BMC TrueSight Operations Management in complex enterprise environments.
- Expertise in monitoring Windows and Linux servers, VMware, databases, web/middleware platforms, storage, cloud services (Azure/AWS), and network infrastructure.
- Experience configuring monitoring policies, event management, alert correlation, suppression, and service integrations for operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting) and REST APIs for deployment, configuration, reporting, and maintenance.
- ITSM platform integration experience (e.g., ServiceNow, Splunk, VMware vCenter, Microsoft SCOM, and Active Directory).
