Infrastructure Operations Manager (Europe)
Location: Liverpool
Travel: Occasional European Travel
Type: Hybrid
I'm currently supporting a global manufacturing organisation undergoing a significant IT and Infrastructure transformation programme.
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Operations Manager, IT Infrastructure Manager or Infrastructure Services Manager looking to take ownership of a large-scale European infrastructure environment whilst playing a key role in a wider global transformation.
The role is responsible for leading a team of 12 Infrastructure Engineers across Europe and supporting an estate of more than 1,000 servers that underpin critical business operations across multiple countries.
Working closely with Infrastructure, Service Delivery, Cyber Security and Business Systems teams globally, you'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability and performance of core infrastructure services whilst helping drive standardisation, modernisation and operational excellence across the wider environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Infrastructure Engineers across multiple European locations
- Manage the day-to-day operation of a large-scale server infrastructure environment
- Ensure high availability and performance of critical business systems
- Drive infrastructure standardisation and harmonisation initiatives across Europe
- Lead the resolution of infrastructure incidents, vulnerabilities, problems and major changes
- Work closely with Cyber Security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and controls
- Manage relationships with external technology vendors and service providers
- Support the delivery of a large-scale global IT transformation programme
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and IT teams across Europe and the Americas

Required Experience
- Previous experience leading Infrastructure, Systems Operations or IT Operations teams
- Experience managing large-scale server environments within enterprise organisations
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, VMware and Infrastructure Hosting environments
- Experience working within structured IT Service Management environments (ITIL or similar)
- Proven experience managing incidents, changes, vulnerabilities and operational risk
- Strong stakeholder management and vendor management experience
- Demonstrable experience leading teams through organisational and technology change
- Experience working across multiple sites, countries or regions

- Exposure to global operating models and matrix organisations
