Linaro Hardware Testing Lab Technician
Linaro maintains a hardware testing lab at its office in Harston, Cambridgeshire. The lab hosts devices for customers, taking responsibility for power, networking, LAVA configuration, and remote access.
The role is primarily expected to work in the Harston office, for a minimum of 3 days a week. Remote management is feasible but onsite attendance is required for hands-on troubleshooting and setup work.
Team members are required to be self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of the team. They are encouraged to identify areas for improvement in the Lab, as well as opportunities for where the Lab’s service could be used. Team members need good organisational skills, attention to detail, and good record keeping (e.g. updates to tickets to keep colleagues informed, writing documentation for knowledge sharing with the team).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
