Job Overview

This Infrastructure Technician role is designed for aspiring IT professionals to gain practical experience in a commercial technology environment. The Technician will support the maintenance, monitoring, and enhancement of technology infrastructure critical to day-to-day business operations.

Location

Woking, Surrey Contract Length: Initial 2-Month Internship with Potential Extension Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 per annum (dependent on relevant experience) Start Date: Immediate Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Full Time Work Arrangement: Fully Office-Based


Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the maintenance and monitoring of IT infrastructure and business systems
  • Supporting hardware and software installation, configuration, and upgrades
  • Providing first-line technical support to internal users
  • Helping to troubleshoot and resolve issues across infrastructure, networks, and systems
  • Managing user account administration and access control
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation and asset records
  • Assisting in IT security protocols, system updates, and maintenance
  • Supporting ongoing infrastructure improvements and technology projects

Requirements

Essential

  • A basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft technologies
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in IT infrastructure and technology
  • Eagerness to learn and develop as an Infrastructure Technician

  • Previous IT-related experience or practical interest
