About the Role

We are seeking to appoint to a newly established Innovation & Enterprise Development Manager role that will play a central part in strengthening and developing the University’s research commercialisation, enterprise activity, and business development capability.

The University is making a strategic shift towards more active, systematic, and professional management of intellectual property, research translation, and commercialisation. To realise the full value of these developments, and to support an expanding portfolio of high-profile research and knowledge exchange activity, the University now requires dedicated senior expertise in innovation development including entrepreneurial support, technology transfer, and business development.

This Role Is Strategically Important In Light Of:

  • The University’s strategic pivot towards UKRI and other funding aligned with the UK Modern Industrial Strategy
  • Growth in tech-led, computing-intensive research, including flagship projects such as cQ, CoSTAR, and the forthcoming LIPF application
  • Institutional priorities relating to research impact and income diversification, commercialisation of IP and research outputs, spin-out and start-up activity, licensing, and industry engagement and partnership development

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
