Senior Manager – Innovation and Legal Technology

Department: Innovation and Legal Technology Location: Birmingham

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Innovation and Legal Technology to help shape and deliver the firm’s innovation agenda, accelerating the adoption of legal technology across the business. This role sits at the heart of business change, working with lawyers and business teams to rethink and improve how legal services are delivered.

The Role

  • Plays a key part in shaping and delivering the firm’s innovation and legal technology agenda, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Drives the delivery of the firm’s innovation and legal technology strategy
  • Leads and manages innovation and legal tech projects from planning through to implementation
  • Line manages technologists, overseeing workload allocation, performance, and day-to-day delivery
  • Tracks and reports on KPIs, ROI, and the commercial impact of innovation initiatives
  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements legal technology solutions and process improvements
  • Partners with lawyers and stakeholders to support complex matters using technology and new ways of working
  • Contributes to the development of client-facing solutions, presentations, and innovation materials
  • Promotes the firm’s innovation capability through internal and external engagement

The Candidate

This role is suited to an experienced innovation or legal technology professional with strong delivery, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in legal technology, innovation, or business change within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects and driving measurable outcomes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Commercial, pragmatic, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience with innovation methodologies, AI, or automation tools (desirable)
  • Project management or process improvement qualifications (advantageous)
