Description

Impact on Urban Health is part of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation. Our collective mission is to build the foundations of a healthier society.

As a member of the team, you have a real opportunity to shape our work and the impact we can have. This is fuelled by our desire to be more than the sum of our parts. We’re curious, we think big and we’re not afraid to take risks.

We are a Living Wage employer and support flexible working, part-time roles and job shares. Though our ambitions are serious, this is a friendly place to work with lots of opportunities to meet and socialise with colleagues. We believe there is immense power in diversity and aim to recruit and nurture talent who think and act differently.

The Innovation Manager supports the Director of Innovation to execute core parts of the innovation strategy by embedding improved delivery practices and test-and-learn capabilities across Impact on Urban Health and, where relevant, the wider Foundation, overseeing a priority set of cross-IoUH and within-programme innovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovation Execution: Work with the Director of Innovation to identify areas for change or improvement within the organisation, developing strategies that consider the organisation’s culture, structure and operational workflow.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identify key stakeholders affected by proposed changes and develop engagement plans, facilitating workshops or meetings to gather input and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional project teams to implement changes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget, while utilising project management tools and methodologies to track progress and address issues.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes or pilot programmes to test the feasibility and impact of proposed changes, designing and implementing testing methodologies to gather data and inform further decision-making.
  • Researching and Testing: Find and test existing or new tools for solving current challenges before implementation to ensure suitability.
  • Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programmes to educate staff on new processes, tools or methodologies resulting from changes, providing ongoing support to ensure effective adaptation.
  • Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to evaluate the impact of implemented changes, regularly monitoring and reporting on performance to make necessary adjustments.
  • Feedback Loop Creation: Implement mechanisms for ongoing feedback from staff and stakeholders on the impact of changes, using feedback to make iterative improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with innovation initiatives and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, preparing contingency plans for unforeseen challenges during implementation.
  • Communication: Develop and execute a communication plan to keep all stakeholders informed about the progress of change initiatives, ensuring transparent and open communication channels to address concerns and provide updates.
  • Cultural Alignment: Ensure that change initiatives align with the organisation’s culture and values, working to enhance or evolve the organisational culture as needed to support innovation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
