Senior Innovation Reliefs Tax Adviser – Research & Development Tax Reliefs

The Role
Our National Innovation & Capital Tax Reliefs Team specialises in helping businesses—from start-ups to multinationals—secure Research & Development (R&D) tax reliefs. Working with a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software and digital technologies, we ensure clients maximize their claims while addressing complex technical and commercial challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Facilitate meetings with current and potential clients to clearly articulate our R&D tax relief support and value proposition.
- Technical Execution & Governance :
- Collaborate on methodologies for preparing R&D tax claims.
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of R&D tax relief submissions to HMRC.
- Continuously refine and enhance the team’s approach to compliance and claim efficacy.
- Stakeholder Management :
- Work closely with colleagues across other tax disciplines to build collaborative value-driving relationships.
- Liaise with HMRC regarding submitted claims, ensuring a proactive and transparent approach to queries and follow-ups.
- Implementation Support :
- Monitor the client’s project progress, manage costs, securely invoice, assess risks and ensure deliverables and relationships are maintained efficiently.
- Present regular updates to senior management on engagement progress and potential risks that could impact client satisfaction.
