Role profile
Building on our continued success, our innovative and growing Osborne Clarke Solutions (OCS) team is looking for an Innovation Solutions Architect, known internally as a Solutions Manager, to join us in Bristol or London.
This role will have a primary focus on exploring and piloting the use of AI technologies, data integrations, orchestration layers and emerging platforms to enhance the delivery of legal services, working closely with ITS, Change, and Risk & Compliance teams to pursue better ways of working. The role carries a strong R&D focus, collaborating with OCS and ITS leads to identify, evaluate and implement new AI tools, data integration solutions (including Boomi and MCPs), and to explore how platforms such as PowerApps and CoPilot can be leveraged within our existing technology stack.
We currently operate a hybrid working model, enabling us to benefit from both home and office working.
The Team
Osborne Clarke's Solutions team plays a crucial role in helping clients explore exactly how they would like legal and related services to be delivered to maximise the value to their businesses. The team is client led, developing new products and services to deliver existing services better, and to deliver entirely new services to meet growing client needs. The team operates out of the UK and Europe, with teams of ex-lawyers, and technologists across locations.
Our Solutions programme has two key goals. First, to make sure we're responding to client demands for greater value, efficiency and certainty from their lawyers, whilst maintaining the highest quality. Secondly, in helping us bring innovative ideas to the delivery of our, or our clients', current and new, services. A significant and growing part of this innovation involves researching, piloting and integrating AI technologies to transform how we deliver legal services across the firm.
We want to ensure our lawyers have the best products and resources needed to provide the best possible service to our clients.
Key Role Responsibilities
- AI-Driven Innovation & R&D: Spearhead initiatives to explore, pilot and integrate existing and new AI technologies within the firm, working in close collaboration with ITS, Change, and Risk & Compliance teams. Beyond AI, the role will focus on exploring data integration opportunities using platforms such as Boomi, investigating the potential of Model Context Protocols (MCPs) and orchestration layers, and developing a broader awareness of how tools such as PowerApps and CoPilot can be leveraged into our existing platforms including HighQ, Legora and ContractExpress. Engage with stakeholders across these functions to identify and understand business needs and use cases for AI, data integrations, orchestration layers and platform enhancements in legal service delivery. Research, evaluate and pilot new tools and initiatives to pursue better ways of working, enhance service delivery and improve operational efficiency. This involves staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI and adjacent technologies, conducting thorough research and proof-of-concept exercises, and fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation. Working alongside OCS and ITS leads, you will help guide the firm through the transformative potential of these technologies, ensuring that solutions are not only cutting-edge but also practical, scalable and impactful.
- Promotion of OC Solutions: Regular engagement and interaction with, and demonstrations to, OC colleagues regarding the solutions available through OC Solutions; supporting the production of case studies and other marketing material and speaking at relevant events and conferences.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
