Plymouth Hospital | Administration | Permanent | Part time

£25,038.00 per annum (pro-rata)

30 hours per week

Our Inpatient Bookings Team at our Plymouth Hospital currently have an opportunity for a new team member. Start your journey with us whilst we’ll support you to be your best.

Following a successful period of growth and increased activity, an administrator is required to support the team and ensuring that the high standards are maintained. Continued growth and development of the team will be paramount to the applicant’s success.

As an Administrator in our Inpatient Bookings/Pre Op Assessment Department you will:

  • Deal with all administration tasks for inpatient bookings including booking theatre slots, pre-assessment appointments, liaising with consultants, patients and various departments around the hospital and processing patient details
  • Handle telephone enquiries efficiently and effectively, providing excellent customer service
  • Ensure all data/information is entered, modified, maintained and presented accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure that work is carried out to required standard and within agreed working practices and procedures, prioritising the workload as necessary
  • Have good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Be a good team player
  • Have the ability to work independently

To succeed as an Administrator you will:

  • Have good IT and keyboard skills, requiring experience with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have experience within an administrative or customer facing environment would be an advantage
  • Have the ability and confidence to engage with a variety of people including consultants, secretaries and patients
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with a positive can-do attitude
  • Stay calm under pressure with the ability to multi-skill
  • Excellent organisational skills are paramount

Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital

The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth and we have been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have 3 main theatres – 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, and a 35-bedded ward. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms with a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service.

We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. We are currently rated as 'Good' by CQC, with 'Outstanding' in surgery.
