Inpatient Matron- Learning Disability and Autism Secure Services.

Matron – Secure Forensic Services (Learning Disability & Autism)

We are seeking an incentive, creative thinker, and motivated Registered Nurse with experience in an inpatient Learning Disability setting to join our dynamic leadership team and clinically and operationally lead our secure forensic services.

The role offers a unique opportunity to embed yourself within senior leadership, shaping the future of our high-quality patient care and playing a critical role in driving continuous improvement across four secure wards.


About the Role

Our Matron will work closely alongside:

  • General Manager
  • Head of Nursing (Inpatient Services)
  • Matron for SATs Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior clinical and operational leadership in inpatient secure settings
  • Oversee and set standards for four secure wards, ensuring compliant and exceeding Care Quality Commission (CQC) essential standards
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance and safeguard care quality
  • Direct line management of ward managers and clinical leads
  • Be an active, visible collaborator across our multidisciplinary team
  • Engage in cross-trust collaboration, working alongside nursing leaders to enhance the Reach Out provider network
  • Champion patient-centred practice, acting as a responsive point of contact for staff, patients, and caregivers
  • Support ward development within the clinical leadership team, ensuring cohesion across all LD wards
  • Coordinate strategies to deliver high clinical outcomes in collaboration with:
    • Head of Nursing
    • Associate Director of Nursing
    • General Manager & Director of Operations
